Need a great recipe for apple pie... here it is:
Deep dish pie crust, pre-made or if you want, make your own.
7-8 small or 3-4 medium, peeled and sliced granny smith apples
3/4 cups of sugar
tblsp of flour
tsp of cinnamon
tsp of nutmeg
dash of lemon juice
dash of vanilla
butter
Mix the dry ingredients and toss with the apples, add the dash of lemon juice and vanilla. Layer in the pie crust, dotting with several pieces of butter.
Crumbly topping: mix 1/2 cup of sugar, 3/4 cup of self-rising flour, and 1 stick of cold butter to make crubly topping and I add a dash of cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly on top of the apple mixture.
Put in pre-heated oven for 50 minutes.
For PURE HEAVEN....serve warm with vanilla ice cream

HA HA ... it made me laugh to see "serve with vanilla ice cream." Jason and I have an ongoing debate about whether or not you can eat apple pie without ice cream. I say it's not a complete dessert unless you have the ice cream. Jason says it's not a necessity - apple pie is a stand along dessert. He's soooooo wrong! :)
Sorry ... that was supposed to be "stand alone!"
