Well, we have been home for a week now. It has passed without incident, just learning our new routine. It hasn't been a terribly difficult transition so far. Of course, I have wonderful friends and family who have contributed to that. T was able to stay home until Wed and my friends have been taking and picking up Lexi and Livia from school. So...I have not had to fully do it on my own yet. Thank goodness!
My momma comes today for a week, which is such a treat. She started this when Lexi was born. She comes up and is so helpful and we have a blast just hanging out. I can't speak enough about how wonderful my mom is. She has been there for all 6 of her grandchildren's births. My father and sister have helped with the other children during the day of delivery. My mom came back from my sister's house when I needed her, thinking we were going to be transferred to a different hospital. Meaning...she travelled 2 hours to come here for us and then the next day travelled the 2 hours back to my sister's. I am just so lucky for her to be my mom! I can't wait for her to cook for me for a whole week...and to take naps with Nicky for a week!
For anyone adding to their family in the near future...just a tip. Let people help if they want to. It makes the transition so much easier. If you can have someone stay with you for a bit, take that too. It really helps the transition and the other kids love it. They get some special attention while mommy is busy with the baby.
We LOVE October!
