What a night!

My poor Lexi had bad dreams last night...after having a nose bleed before bed. She came into our bedroom in the middle of the night. We do not let our kids sleep with us and never have...unless they are sick or scared, of course. However, I was trying to think of a way to soothe her so she would go back to bed. My sweet, compassionate husband, invited her into bed with us. It was the right thing to do. She is our oldest and I have to remember that she is still just a little girl who sometimes needs mommy and daddy as much as the little ones...moreso sometimes. My husband is the more compassionate of the two of us. He was so sweet to her, consoling her. I was still half asleep, but fulfilled my mommy duty quickly thereafter. I just love to see moments between T and his girls. He is such a great dad. He truly loves his girls. I am so thankful for a husband whose family is so important to him. I am glad that his strengths lie where I have weaknesses.

I pray tonight she sleeps sweet dreams though. I cannot sleep well with littles in my bed. She did not sleep well either...and my girls need their rest!
