The dissenter

Don't you love it when you have someone in your life who seems to be on a mission to bring you down? There is a mom, not a friend, not an aquaintance, just another mom of a kid from Girl scouts and though we do not know each other it does seem obvious that she dislikes me or maybe it is people in general. There are always snide comments. One of those people that if you say up, she will say down.
This week I was discussing my looming appointment and how much I dislike weighing in...well because it is hard for me to gain the massive amts of weight I do at this point in my pregnancy. This month has been particulary harsh to the ego, with a less than stellar weight gain. This same mom is also expecting in Dec and thought it was a great time to let me know she has gained less than me, though she is due 6 wks before me. I smiled and was polite, but I did feel a little devil on my shoulder that was encouraging me to be unkind.
I t's okay though. I do always gain a lot at this point and then it slows down considerably. I am fairly consistent with my pregnancies, so hopefully it will be the same this time. Way more importantly though, baby's heartbeat is good and strong and all seems to be well. Just 15 more weeks to bake!
