Busy time of year

What a busy time it is for us. Time to register my girls for preschool for next year...already! Alivia will be in k4 which is free in FL for 4 year olds. Woohoo! This is true even for most private schools. How awesome is that! I will also be enrolling Allie for 2 days a week. She will have a blast being around the other kiddos...and I will have time to enjoy the baby, run errands, nap, whatever.

It is also my father's, mother's 2 neices, and a brother-in law's birthday in the next 2 weeks.

We are set to have a baby...within the next 2-3 weeks.

My daughter is performing in a play at school in which she has a solo. I REALLY hope I get to make it to see her. I do not want to miss her debut performance. :)

We are turning in T's leased truck...we are gonna just pay the mileage penalties and anything else they nick us for. I just cannot let the dealership win. They do not want to take the cash we want to offer, but want us to buy a new car. The car industry is in major troubles...and they would rather have another truck to have to sell than to work a deal...so they get the truck back. We are looking around for a deal, but the beauty is, we will not have a car payment, it will be ours, and we are finally on the road to financial freedom!

I am sure there are other things going on as well. Just a crazy, busy time. I am not letting it overwhelm me. In fact, I am finally feeling at peace. I was a crazy, stressed wreck, talking to the car dealership...and since then I have a peace. I know it will all work out. We have made a lot of stupid mistakes, this was one of them, we are paying for those. There are consequences and it's okay. After years of making stupid, selfish financial decisions and trying to keep up with the Joneses, we are starting to be smarter. Woohoo! I bought the Dave Ramsey book 2 years ago. I read it and tried to implement a plan waaaay back then, but did not. Finally! We are going to implement his strategies and my goal is for us to only owe on our house by March of next year. It is a challenging goal, but definitely doable. I do not want to teach our children that it is okay to buy things today and pay for them for years to come! We have not used a credit card in over a year. In fact, I closed most of the accounts. Wahoo!

Anyway, the above paragraph has nothing really to do with the busy time, but where my train of thought led. I hope to post triumphs in the months to come. When we pay something off, I will celebrate with a blog. I hope this will keep me accountable as well. Time goes so fast and keeping steadfast for a short time, will be so worth it in the end!
